When a Playing-Card Subscription Is Worth It
A fresh deck is cheap until you are the person who hosts every week. Corners soften, backs pick up tells, and someone always wants a second pack for rummy. Nylon Playing Cards’ playing-card subscription is a prepaid plan for that habit: you choose a deck, pay once for 3, 6, 12, or 24 deliveries, and we ship them on a schedule you can move. It is worth it for regular tables. It is a poor fit if a deck lives in a drawer for a year.
What you are actually buying
This is not an auto-renewing membership. You pay the full discounted amount at checkout. There is no second card charge when a later box goes out. When the last delivery ships, the plan ends. Start another whenever you want.
- 3 deliveries — 5% off the listed price
- 6 deliveries — 10% off
- 12 deliveries — 15% off
- 24 deliveries — 20% off
The discount applies to the current listed price on the product page, not the MRP. Longer plans save more on every deck in that plan. Each shipment is free across India, the same as a one-time order. You can send 1 to 20 decks in each delivery, which is how a club locks in a stack of matching packs instead of one tuck box at a time.
How often the cards show up
On the product page, switch from Buy once to Subscribe & Save. Then pick the plan, the quantity per shipment, and a frequency:
- Every week
- Every 10 days
- Every 14 days
- Every month
The first delivery is scheduled about a week after you order. Later boxes follow the interval you chose. The evening before a later shipment we email you, and you can move that date from My Account → Subscriptions. A sign-in is required so those dates stay attached to you. One-time orders can still check out as a guest.
Who should subscribe
Subscribe when a worn deck is a recurring cost, not a surprise.
- Weekly rummy or teen patti — paper decks take a beating from long sessions. A 12- or 24-delivery plan at 15% or 20% off keeps a spare in the cupboard. Rummy decks and twin packs are the usual pick.
- A standing poker night — if drinks are on the table, nylon plastic poker cards survive spills that retire paper. A monthly plastic delivery is often enough for one home game.
- Bridge circles — duplicate and rubber both chew through packs, and clubs like two back colours in play. A 575 Premium Bridge plan, or the 6-pack as the product on the plan, matches that habit. See why bridge-size cards matter.
- Anyone who retires decks on a schedule — our card-care guide explains when shine, warp, or a bad fan means the pack should leave the table. A subscription is the replacement half of that rule.
When a one-time order is the better buy
Skip the plan if you play a few times a year, you are still deciding between paper and plastic, or you want a single deck as a gift. A one-time order from the shop is simpler, and guests do not need an account. You can also mix materials later: crisp paper decks for a classic shuffle, plastic decks for monsoon humidity, terrace games, and spilled chai. The comparison is in plastic vs paper.
A short plan is a reasonable test. Three deliveries at 5% off is enough to learn whether a monthly or fortnightly rhythm matches your table. If it does, the next plan can be 12 or 24 and the discount steps up. If it does not, the plan still ends on its own.
A quick way to choose a plan
- Count how many new decks you opened in the last three months
- If that number is under two, buy once
- If you open a deck every month, start with 6 or 12 deliveries on a monthly frequency
- If a club shares packs every week, use 12 or 24 deliveries and raise the quantity per box
- Pick plastic when cards get wet; pick paper or German board when shuffle feel matters more than waterproofing
Open any poker, rummy, or bridge deck, choose Subscribe & Save, and the checkout total is the full prepaid price. Details, frequencies, and the plan table live on the subscription page.
